Job Description
Boeing IDS International Communications seeks an experienced communicator in India to serve as on-the-ground support for the IDS vice president and country head who leads Boeing's defense efforts in India. The successful candidate must be comfortable with supporting visiting senior IDS executives, capable of serving the communications needs of multiple IDS programs and of working with diverse team members from across the enterprise and multiple time zones. The communications position would be based out of Boeing's New Delhi office, reporting virtually to the Director of IDS Communications for India based in the U.S , working closely with the International Corporate Communicator (ICC) in India and helping direct and manage an external PR consultancy.



1.Manage IDS communications in India:

Support IDS programs , business development and keep it sold efforts. Plan, coordinate and implement local media events including briefings roundtables, interviews and social meetings.

Assist the IDS India communications director to develop and execute communications planning in support of Aero India, DefExpo and other local shows, events and conferences of interest to IDS. Assist the IDS India communications director to plan and coordinate IDS-sponsored international media tours

Develop and exploit new media opportunities.



2. Serve as local interface between Boeing IDS and local news media to encourage fair and accurate news coverage:

Develop and proactively maintains effective relationships with local aerospace and defense media. Respond to inquiries from local and foreign journalists. Monitor daily news and anticipate potential issues, concerns and/or risks to Boeing's business initiatives and reputation. Supports creation of news media collateral material.



3. Provide executive communications support to:

IDS vice president and country head. IDS International Business Development. Visiting senior IDS leadership. Boeing India President as required. Local partners, suppliers and other stakeholders as required.



4. Work in close co-ordination with International Corporate Communications (ICC) and Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA):

To develop and execute cross enterprise communications plans. Support cross enterprise activities in India. Provide direction to local Genesis agency. Provide BNN and Frontiers coverage. Enforce adherence to company standards, policies and procedures.



5. Supports IDS advertising and marketing efforts

Identify sponsorship opportunities.

Review and route advertising copy for local approval.

Competencies: 1. Ten years of relevant work experience in either communications, the media or both 2. Good working knowledge of the aerospace and defense industry 3. Fluent in English and Hindi - written and spoken. 4. Ability to work as part of a virtual team 5. Familiarity in dealing with senior executives 6. Typical Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a Communications related field.
